Vani Archaeological museum's collection encompasses the period between the 8th and 1st centuries BCE. One of the exhibitions includes the city of temples, most representative of Vani culture. Architecture, gold-works, bronze sculptures and their fragments are represented at the permanent exhibition. Using new technologies and installations the permanent exhibition of the renewed Vani Archeological Museum showcases numerous artifacts discovered in the Vani settlement and its environs.

Colchian ceramics from Vani Settlement - From Discovery to Display

Program consists of 2 sessions:

Session 1: Participants will learn about the history of Colchian Ceramics from VIII-I century B.C. century found in Vani;

Session 2: Participants will learn about the restoration/conservation processes of the artifacts – the Story of the object from Discovery to Museum Display.
The session will be accompanied by hands-on activity – restoration of Ceramics.

Myths and Gods (based on Vani artifacts)

The program envisages: 1. Presentation in the educational hall: Information and photo-presentation about Greek mythology – "Pantheon of Gods” – about the central gods of Greek mythology.
2. In the Exhibition space: Presenting the Gods from the display panel and tour about the Greek mythology.

What do the artifacts tell us about?”

The tour will consist of 2 sessions - Session 1: Participants will learn about the Vani settlement and the archaeological artifacts from VIII-I century B.C. found on the surrounding territory, how they were discovered and about their role in studying ancient European civilization;
Session2: Participants will learn about the restoration/conservation processes of the artifacts found at Vani settlement – the story of the object from the time it was discovered to the museum exhibition hall. The session will be accompanied by hands-on activity – Restoration of Ceramics.
