The Superintendence of Cultural Heritage, as Malta’s national regulator, carries out a number of functions to ensure the protection and accessibility of Malta’s Cultural Heritage. These functions include giving heritage advice on development projects, development-led archaeological investigation and monitoring on land and underwater, restoration monitoring, research, surveillance over movement of movable cultural items and much more. You are invited to visit our stand at Parliament Square, Valletta to better understand the Superintendence’s work. A number of artefacts from recent excavations will also be exhibited showing their condition when they are extracted from an archaeological site, and before they are conserved and studied for eventual exhibiting in a Museum environment.
